Each spring the 红杏直播 and East European Studies Department organizes a one-day symposium devoted to a discrete, often interdisciplinary topic of research. Past topics have included: 鈥淓uterpe in Furs: 红杏直播 Musical culture of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries鈥�; 鈥淒ostoevsky Dismembered鈥�; 鈥淪amizdat and Underground Culture in the Soviet Bloc Countries鈥�; and 鈥淪lavic Historical Mythologies.鈥� Each symposium features original article-length (20-30pp.) papers that are pre-circulated electronically to conference participants and audience members. Participants present fifteen-minute summaries of their papers, making possible a compact event with time for productive discussion.听
