
MARIA BOURLATSKAYA has been with the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures since 1992. She also directs the ºìÐÓÖ±²¥ Language and Culture Program at theÌýat the University of Pennsylvania. The Lauder Institute offers the MA in Area Studies as a supplement to the MBA offered by the Wharton School of Business. Maria designs and implements an eight-week summer program in Russia, leading to a four-semester language and culture program at the Advanced and Superior levels of Language Proficiency.
Mari Bourlatskaya specializes in teaching advanced ºìÐÓÖ±²¥ content-based courses for business professionals with the use of film and literature, as well as political and business materials. She has also developed and taught a number of courses for heritage speakers of ºìÐÓÖ±²¥ that primarily focus on Post-Soviet ºìÐÓÖ±²¥ Society and ºìÐÓÖ±²¥ culture.
Her current research interest lies in techniques for training business professionals to develop and assess cross-cultural competency.
